Citrus and Fruit Trees

Home grown always tastes better! With so many varieties that grow here, it’s hard not to find space for a few fruit trees, if not a whole orchard!

Orange Trees for Sale

Arizona Sweet - Grown widely through out Maricopa County and are the most popular variety sold as they are very sweet and juicy.

Trovita - A very good juicing orange, and almost as sweet as a Naval, these trees are very adaptable to the Southwest Desert climate.

Valencia - Most popular juice orange in today's market, they're not easily peeled, but the fruit holds on the tree longer than most oranges.

Washington Navel - Slow growing produces large fruit that is easily peeled and no seeds, most popular eating orange.

Blood Oranges (Moro, Tarocco) - Fruit is a mild to dark maroon color depending on soil and climate and has interesting taste compared to other oranges.


Lemon Trees for Sale

Eureka - This small to medium sized tree produces a very acidic lemon with few seeds and holds well on the tree. It's the best lemon to squeeze, but harder to peel. They grow well in mild winters.

Lisbon - Lisbon trees are highly productive fruit producing trees that are very heat tolerant, making them a great choice to grow in the desert. They ripen vigorously between January and February

Meyer or Improved Meyer - A compact dwarf variety of lemon tree, they produce a very dark green foliage. It's a favorite choice for cooking due to its sugar content, and is easily container grown.

Pink Lemon - Sporting a variegated foliage of white to light green, the fruit it produces has a pinkish color, and is very attractive in desert landscapes.


Grapefruit Trees for Sale

Marsh Seedless - Old favorite of the 60's traditionally eaten at breakfast, the fruit holds for a long time on the tree. Its a very vigorous grower as the lemons tend to grow in clusters.

Ruby Red - Produces a light Pink fruit color that's semi-sweet, and as the fruit ripens the rind gains a stronger pink pigment. Wtih hardly any seeds and easily peeled, Ruby Reds grow well here and are an obvious favorite.

Rio Red - These are a larger fruit than most other grapefruit with a lighter color. They produce a very juicy, hard to peel fruit that holds for a long time on tree.

Oro Blanco - The longer these grapefruits stay on the tree, the sweeter they become. The fruit produces few seeds and is segmented making them quite enjoyable to eat, although they can be difficult to peel.


Tangelo Trees for Sale

Minneola - These tangelos grow best in warm climates and can remain on tree for long periods of time. They are actually hybrid of a tangerine and a grapefruit and are very juicy and easily peeled. The fruit has the reverse look of a naval orange or a little top knot.

Orlando - Known for stronger growth in warmer climates, these mildly sweet tangelo ripens very early does not hold well on tree more of a round fruit.


Nectarine Trees for Sale

Gold Mine - #1 for growing in desert conditions, these trees produce a juicy, medium to large nectarine with reliable production

Snow Queen - Named for its white flesh, this low-chill variety produces well in hot climates.


Plum Trees for Sale

Santa Rosa - This tree produces the absolutely very best flavor and grows well in the desert. The tree offers sturdy protection for the fruit, making this species the only plum variety that should be considered when planting in the desert.


Kumquat Trees for Sale

Kumquats - Kumquats fruit year around and can be eaten whole or cut up into salads, Jell-O, or used to make sauces, jams, or preserves. These are used mostly as a container plant due to its dwarfing, shrubby growth. These fruit heaviest in the summer, and are great when planted around pools or spas where their fresh aroma can be enjoyed during the height of summer.

Limequats - This oblong fruit has quite a unique flavor  with few seeds. They rarely become ripe, mostly staying maintaining a light color. These are also great around pools and spas as they are very aromatic and fruit heavily in the summer.


Peach Trees for Sale

Desert Gold - These peaches have a gold color with red blush, and have time and time again proven to bear large amounts of fruit in the desert!

Florida Prince - When compared to the desert gold, these are redder and larger, but boast the same reliable production in desert climates.

May Pride - This yellow variety of peach requires little frost exposure that's necessary for production in warmer climates.


Lime Trees for Sale

Key Lime (Mexican Lime) - A lime with very aromatic aroma, this is the lime of choice for mixed drinks, beer, and deserts. Key Lime trees bear fruit practically year around in warm climates. These trees require frost protection during cold winters.

Bearss Lime (Persian Lime) - A cold hardy alternative to the Key Lime, these trees have few thorns and produce a seedless, juicy Lime while maintaining a very compact growth pattern.


Tangerine Trees for Sale

Dancy -  These are very juicy tangerines that ripen in early December.

Clementine (Algerian) - This medium size tree creates a very juicy, easy to peel fruit that holds well on tree.

Fairchild - A fruit tree with very compact growth, great flavor, and fruits well in the desert, these trees have very few thorns to avoid when harvesting.

Kinnow - A very late ripening, seedy tangerine that's very flavorful, aromatic, and peels very easily making them worth the wait.

Fremont - Most fruit bears at the tip of branches, and fruits heavily in alternate years, Grow very well in desert climates.

Satsumas - A very early ripening, seedless, sweet fruit that's often able to be eaten even when the skin is still green.



Apricot Trees for Sale

Gold Kist - These apricots ripen early and are noted for reliable production, especially in warmer areas.

Katy
 - A larger, sweeter variety of apricot again that produces large amounts of fruit in low altitude conditions.

Royal
 (Blenheim) - These trees produce a slightly smaller fruit, but produce more regularly and boast a more intense apricot flavor.


Apple Trees for Sale

Anna - Originally developed for low altitude production, these are perfectly adapted for fantastic production here in the Western U.S, these produce a very sweet and surprisingly crisp apple. Depending on the weather, both spring and fall crops can develop.

Dorsett
 (Golden) - Another great choice for low altitude gardens, Dorsetts have a golden color when ripe. These sweet medium sized apples have very reliable production in low altitude areas.
