Australian Bottle (Brachychiton populneus)


The Australian bottle tree is a hardy evergreen shade tree known best for its upright shape and bright green leaves. Once established, the canopy becomes more rounded with maturity, providing a unique growth pattern. The Australian Bottle is drought tolerant and performs well with little maintenance needed.

Bottle trees are common in landscape designs for massive amounts of shade and privacy, but also as a barrier to wind when planted in a row. These trees are extremely useful in closed-in areas where it’s narrow upright form allow it to reach above nearby structures before branching out to cast shade.
