Sabal palms, or Cabbage palmettos, can be used in a wide variety of landscape styles from tropical and subtropical to Mediterranean styles. This palm initially appears as fronds growing directly from the ground, but after a few years, begins to develop a unique trunk pattern, formed from the old fronds that have been trimmed off.
