Green Carpet (Carissa macrocarpa 'Green Carpet')
The dark green leaves of the Carissa macrocarpa make this an excellent ground cover for green yards and a beautiful contrast in desert landscapes. Accurately referred to as ‘Green Carpet’ it is easy to grow and very tolerant of desert soils. Green Carpet grows very well in a variety of soil and water conditions and prefers to be planted in partial to full sun.
Recovers quickly from frost damage, but should be protected in hard freezes to prevent damage to main branches. The trailing branches will drape down the sides of raised planters or cover and soften mounds.
