Variegated Century Plant (Agave americana varigata)
The largest of the Agave species, the Agave Americana, commonly called the Century Plant, grows long, pointed green leaves appearing to stem straight from the ground. The Century Plant grows at a fast rate (comparative to other cacti) establishing thick leaves in a heavy "pup" cluster that can reach out up to 3 feet from the base.
The "variegated" variety of Century Plant is similar in most respects to the non-variegated, aside from the notable difference in leaf color. Variegated Century Plants boast a lighter, fleshier green leaf with a creamy white to yellow marginal variegation that gives this Agave Americana a highly unique and desirable appearance.
