Heavenly Bamboo (Nandina domestica)
Heavenly Bamboo is graceful, upright accent plant with soft draping foliage on tall stems usually growing right from the ground. New growth is a pretty red shade and turns green as the leaves mature. White flowers in spring develop berries that turn bright red in fall and winter. Leaves turn bright red in cold winters.
Plant Heavenly Bamboo in part to full sun for the best color changing throughout the year. They prefer well draining soil to root deep. Fertilize during the warmer months to keep the leaves healthy looking.
They can grow to 7’ tall and easily kept lower without making them look sheared by removing the tallest stems at ground level.
