Pink Cordyline Details

The Pink Cordyline is a perennial evergreen shrub with a dramatic look due to its sword-shaped leaves and intense hues. When the plant is still young, its leaves produce a deep red coloring. As it matures and becomes established, it slowly changes to dark burgundy and bright pink color. At full growth, this plant will reach around 2- 4 feet high and wide, but it usually averages around 3 feet in height. By late spring, small white flowers will bloom through the summer. This plant is perfect for anybody wanting to add visual appeal and a plant that needs minimal care.

Pink Cordyline Basic Care

This plant does best when planted in warmer climates, such as the ones we experience in the Southwest region. It does best in full sun and can grow well in partial shade environments. It can handle any types of soil conditions, which increases the areas that are suitable for installation. Overall, the Pink Cordyline has average watering needs. It will need more water depending on how high temperatures rise in the summer. It will also need more watering if planted in a container compared being in the ground. This plant needs to be fertilized at least once in the spring, but we recommend fertilizing 3 times a year (every 4 months) for optimal structural and root health.

Pink Cordyline Landscape Uses

This plant has an extremely versatile esthetic and can be used in almost any way and almost any landscape style. Because of its bright color and unique texture, it works as an accent feature against most other plants and trees. It brings the most intense pop of color when the foliage from other plants creates a vibrant green backdrop. It is often planted in areas of the yard to add texture to a design. This perennial can easily be placed and grown in containers, pottery, and hanging baskets, which are perfect for small patio yards or to add décor to a deck or entryway. This Pink Cordyline creates an impressive visual when planted in rows or in a mass planting in any design.
