Torch Glow Bougainvillea

Bougainvillea 'Torch Glow'

  • Bursting year round color
  • The Bougainvillea Torch Glow stands out as one of the most unique Bougainvillea varieties
  • Vibrant display of showy pink flowers clusters together
  • Minimal maintenance and thornless stems
  • Native to Central and South America

If your landscape is in need of bursting year round color and a shrub that can display that 'wow' factor, look no further than the Bougainvillea Torch Glow.

The Bougainvillea Torch Glow stands out as one of the most unique Bougainvillea varieties we carry at Moon Valley Nursery. It's unlike common Bougainvillea's that we see in resorts and homes in Southern California that grow as a bushy shrub.

The Torch Glow produces multiple compact stems that grow upright and out from the base. This growth pattern gives the Torch Glow a formal looking layered look that looks clean in any landscape. The stems twist as they grow and they are covered in tiny green colored leaves. The stems form a conical shape at the top where a vibrant display of showy pink flowers clusters together. This is how the Bougainvillea gets its name. The top of the stems looks like a torch. The Torch Glow's stems are not like a vine, so a support system is not needed.

Blooms on the Torch Glow last longer which reduces the amount of cleanup compared to other Bougainvillea varieties. Its minimal maintenance and thornless stems have made the Torch Glow a popular choice for many homeowners looking to add color to accent location or as a centerpiece to any landscape.

The Torch Glow requires minimal water once established and is extremely hardy in the heat. When grown in the full sun, the Torch Glow will produce even more flowers. The Torch Glow is native to Central and South America, the Bougainvillea's name comes from the French explorer Louis Antoine de Bougainville during his circumnavigation of the globe in the mid-18th century.

These have quickly become my favorite plant here in AZ. I had a pair of them put in my back yard when I had the landscaping done and they're just gorgeous! Right now in this late morning sunshine they're literally glowing that beautiful pink/purple. I'm trying to figure out how I can get them in other places around the house now.
