Although native to Mexico and Central America, these evergreen succulents have the common name of Caribbean Agave and they are so easy to grow that you can just leave them alone and they will thrive! Their botanical name is Agave angustifolia, and these slow-growing plants offer a dramatic appearance that makes them suitable for a broad range of landscape options. They form a large rosette of narrow, erect, green leaves, and we like mass planting them for a stunning landscape scene that you have to see to believe! We also like to use them in rock gardens, in a mixed border, or in any tropical theme landscape design. These are versatile plants ideal for most any landscape style!
Caribbean Agave is drought tolerant and thrives in full sun to partial sun exposures. Very low-maintenance, once established, they require little to moderate water use, so if you are the kind of person that does not have a green thumb, these plants are for you! They have strong symmetry, which is why you often see them used in urban gardens and modern gardens with little space. From tropical to xeriscape, this Caribbean Agave is the right choice for any landscape!
