MOON VALLEY NURSERIES COMPLETES GLENDALE ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVE THIS FEBRUARY

Glendale, AZ (Jan. 31, 2022) – Moon Valley Nurseries, a premiere tree and plant nursery located throughout the Southwest, revealed the final planting date for a multi-year environmental initiative they supplied trees for today. The nursery teamed up with the Salt River Project and the City of Glendale to be the sole supplier of new trees for the Right Tree, Right Place program in November 2020. This initiative addressed problematic trees planted next to city powerlines by replacing each one with three new trees.

During the project, Moon Valley Nurseries provided 500 new trees and removed 167 trees planted near powerlines, replacing each one with a lusher and smaller-growing tree to increase their environmental benefits and effectiveness for cooling the city. The additional trees were planted along the streets and around the public parks in the city.
The final trees will be planted on Feb. 8 and 9 along Grand Avenue.

Since 2018, Moon Valley Nurseries has provided over 2000 low-water powerline-friendly trees to Phoenix, Tempe, and Glendale parks, schools, and communities to create a positive environmental impact and add beauty to each city.
