One of the first plants cultivated by humans, the Fig comes in a wide range of colors and sizes. Figs are a great source of dietary fiber and potassium, and can be eaten when fresh or dried. The Fig isn’t too sweet tasting and is quite soft on the inside. The “skin” is firm, similar to a peach, and the fruit can be used in many cooking recipes. There are several Fig varieties to choose from, but only a small number are recommended as excellent and reliable for our area. We’ve taken the guesswork out and only carry the best varieties for our area.
