Quercus nuttalli quickly grows into a large pyramidal tree, and when their attractive green leaves transform to a deep crimson red color in the fall, it creates a stunning landscape scene that looks straight out of a painting. This Texas Oak is a deciduous tree so that it can let the sunlight in during the winter, and when the leaves return in early spring, it can block the sunlight and provide cooling shade relief. We like to plant them as an excellent lawn tree or patio tree that provides an idyllic picnic spot because of the headroom beneath the branches. When used as a street tree, it is sure to add plenty of curbside appeal too!
