MOON VALLEY NURSERIES AND SOUTHWEST GAS TEAM UP TO PROMOTE SAFE DIGGING MONTH IN APRIL

National Safe Digging Month Is Here

Scottsdale, Arizona - May. 04, 2023

Moon Valley Nurseries, a premiere tree and plant nursery located throughout the Southwest, and Southwest Gas have partnered together to emphasize the importance of calling before digging in honor of National Safe Digging Month. National Safe Digging Month raises awareness surrounding the dangers of digging and potentially hitting a utility line.

To promote safety, local experts would like to encourage residents to call 811 before digging.

Whether a small or large project, Moon Valley Nurseries, and Southwest Gas advise contractors and homeowners on the importance of calling 811 at least two working days before the start of any digging or underground excavation project so utility-owned lines can be properly marked and avoided. The visit is FREE and helps ensure individual and public safety.

Moon Valley Nurseries and Southwest Gas experts are available for on-site and on-camera interviews to discuss the following topics:

  • What is Safe Digging Month?
  • Why is it important to call 811 before a digging project?
  • What is the process once calling 811?
  • What can happen if you don’t call 811 prior to digging?
  • What should someone do if they suspect a gas leak?
