Weevils

WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR

Weevils damage both the roots of the plant in their larval stage, as well as the leaves while they are adults. The adult Weevil can spread quickly from plant to plant. Weevil grubs can be found in early spring and will reach adulthood in the summer. You will see them at the base of leaves and in your plant’s soil.

SIGN OF INFESTATION

Weevils will cause wilting on your plant’s lower leaves, as well as browning at the leaf’s base. Additionally, they severely weaken your plant’s root system.

How to Treat

  1. Prevention – Prevent weevil infestations with an application of systemic insecticide at the onset of growing season.
  2. Fertilizer – Once weevils have eaten away portions of the root ball, it is critical to give your plant the tools it needs to bounce back and re-grow a strong root system. We recommend a combination of Super Charged Moon Juice and Moon Dust.
  3. Treatment – Tackle active infestations with a combination of topical insecticide for the adult weevils and a systemic drench for the larva.
