  • Blooms: White flowers, 2x a year

Silver Bush Morning Glory Details

The Silver Bush Morning Glory is a true Mediterranean native plant and lives up to its name thanks to its blunt-tipped leaves, which are covered with tiny hairs that help give its metallic silvery gloss! It’s not just the leaves that are stunning on this shrub. In the spring and summer seasons it is covered with masses of white teacup plate-shaped flowers! This Morning Glory variety can grow up to 3 feet tall and 4 feet wide, which creates more ways to use the shrub in your landscape.

Silver Bush Morning Glory Basic Care

The Silver Bush Morning Glory prefers full to half sun exposure with well-draining soil. This plant is drought tolerant, once established, and has low to moderate watering needs, so it’s a fairly low maintenance plant that anyone can take care of, even novice green thumbs. It can even tolerate not-so-perfect soil such as salty, dry, or sandy environments. However, there are products to help increase your overall soil health, such as our Soil and Water Conditioner.

Silver Bush Morning Glory is a fast-growing shrub that look great left in their natural state. We recommend trimming them back every year or two to keep the foliage full and healthy. This shrub is also evergreen, so you can enjoy the foliage all year long. This is a welcome addition to any size landscape. While our warmer weather lets us enjoy the white flowers longer, it can also dry out the soil faster than usual. A little extra water during the high temperatures will help this shrub through the summer.

Silver Bush Morning Glory Landscape Uses

This shrub grows into a low mounding form that looks beautiful anywhere you plant it. The silver-looking foliage looks perfect on hills, in rocky landscapes, as an accent piece, and near cacti for contrast. Silver Bush Morning Glory can really stand out when grown in raised planters and containers on patios or in entryways, because of its fascinating white flowers.

This variety of Morning Glory is primarily used as ground covering as it can grow up to 4 feet wide, so it can cover quite a bit of bare ground space in your landscape and add texture to other plants in your yard. When planted in rows, this shrub is a fun unique way to line a driveway or create a prominent border line.
