There are many types of aloe, and the Blue Elf Aloe is a favorite for adding a splash of bright color to landscapes when not much else is blooming. Native to South Africa, this small aloe hybrid features upright blue-green leaves, and blossoms bright orange flowers in late winter that can last through early spring! Aloe Blue Elf are excellent design plants. We like to use these versatile fuss-free succulents in rock gardens, waterwise borders, and mass planting them for an explosion of color. These are the right size for small spaces and for adding a vibrant punch of color and texture that can get your yard noticed for all the right reasons!
Blue Elf Aloe can work in just about any spot in a landscape. For instance, you can plant them next to pools, next to the driveway, in courtyards, entryways, and raised planters. They love the heat and thrive in a location with plenty of full sun exposure. The only place they do not do well is in an area where the soil is heavy and wet. Of course, it is a succulent, so they are drought tolerant once established, so they are ideal for water-wise gardens too!
