Bougainvillea Raspberry Ice (Bougainvillea ‘Raspberry Ice’)

Bougainvillea Raspberry Ice

Bougainvillea ‘Raspberry Ice’

  • Also known as Paperflower, ‘Hawaii’
  • One of the hardiest varieties of bougainvillea
  • A very tropical plant
  • Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies

Native to South America, Bougainvillea Raspberry Ice is one of the hardiest varieties of Bougainvillea, and also one of the most stunning! This evergreen vine offers a profusion of vibrant raspberry-pink blossom-like bracts and variegated foliage colors of yellow, green, and gray green that contrasts beautifully with the flowers. Their low, spreading form makes them ideal for a colorful border, rock gardens, and they work especially well growing in a hanging basket or to cover up a bank with vibrant colors. We also like training them up arbors, where this bougainvillea vine can create shade below!

Plant Bougainvillea Raspberry Ice in a spot that gets plenty of full sun exposure for the best show of flowers. Once established, this bougainvillea plant has little to moderate watering needs and is drought tolerant. Occasional fertilization in spring and summer is beneficial, so while you are here, be sure to pick up the fertilizers at any of our nurseries. We carry the fertilizers that are ideal for treating Houston’s dense soil for a beautiful, thriving landscape!

Bougainvillea Raspberry Ice is a sure-fire way to add color to any dull landscape. We like to plant them with other colorful plants such as Cordyline and Lantana, all of which are available at Moon Valley Nurseries and grown to thrive in our local climate.

We can assure the quality of everything we grow because our plants and trees are grown from our premium quality specimens. Visit any of our nurseries, and we will be glad to handpick the perfect trees, vines, and other plants for the perfect spot in your yard! A beautiful landscape will increase property value, so relax while our professional planting crew does all the work.
