Landscape Soil Conditioner

Landscape Soil Conditioner Instructions

Optimizes Soil Conditions

The most difficult aspect of growing trees and plants in the desert is the hard, compact soil and the high ph found in our soil and water. This alkaline condition prevents major and minor nutrients from converting into compounds that are readily available to living plant roots. Hard soil also drains very slowly which can result in wet, soggy soil that is hard-pressed to support healthy plant growth.

Moon Valley Landscape Soil Conditioner contains sulfur and gypsum to counteract these salt buildups and loosen tough hard soil. The sulfur will actively reduce the high Ph and allow the excess salt buildup to be flushed out of the root system thereby creating a soil base that converts nutrition easily. Gypsum will work its way into hard, compact clay loosening the soil and leading to better drainage and healthier soils. Several applications per year will make a noticeable difference by loosening hard soil and growing stronger plants and trees.

Permanently changing the hardest soils may require several applications for a couple of years, but the lasting effects are worth the wait. Moon Valley Landscape Soil Conditioner is only available at Moon Valley Nursery locations.

Easy to use!

Just spread Moon Valley Landscape Soil Conditioner on top of hard ground, water in, and let nature do the work, washing out excess salts, softening clay soil, and helping fertilizers work to their best potential. When planting in caliche or hard clay soil, it is recommended to sprinkle 1 cup of Landscape Soil Conditioner underneath the rootball of an average shrub and 2 to four cups underneath trees.

Directions for Use:

  1. Moon Valley Nurseries Landscape Soil Conditioner can be applied at any time of the year. For most trees, shrubs & grass, apply every other month (6 times a year).
  2. FOR TREES FOR SHRUBS
    2 to 4 cups - 6 times a year. 1/4 to 1 cup - 6 times a year.
FOR TREES & SHRUBS FOR LAWN APPLICATION
Spread Landscape Soil Conditioner over the entire root area and lightly mix it into the soil. Thoroughly water after application. Apply directly over the top of existing lawns or mix in the soil before installing new lawns at a rate of 10 to 20 pounds per 100 square feet. Thoroughly water after application.
  3. Spread the fertilizer evenly underneath the entire tree or plant. Do not allow fertilizer to pile up against the trunk or branches near ground level.
  4. Water all trees and plants immediately after fertilizing. Using a hose to saturate the entire fertilized area is recommended to improve fertilizer efficiency.
