April 19, 2019 Moon Valley Nurseries has opened a new Texas location in Austin. Our Austin location can be found at 12881 Pond Springs Road Austin, TX 78729 We are conveniently located in North Austin, right off the US Highway 183 on Pond Springs Road. This location is open to the public and along with serving the Austin community we also serve Georgetown, San Marcos, San Antonio, and more. While we have been doing business in the Houston region since 2010, this is our first nursery to be opened in the Austin area. We are happy to offer a nursery in this new territory to better serve our existing customers outside of Houston. We are excited for the prospects that will come from our new customers in Austin and surrounding areas. We are proud to bring Moon Valley Nurseries and all our services to our new community. Moon Valley Nurseries is open daily, Monday through Saturday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm and on Sundays from 9 am to 5 pm. Before Moon Valley Nurseries This location offers a rich local history that we hope to help carry on. Almost 200 years ago, this property was used as a homestead for stagecoaches passing through Texas. In the 1870s, this homestead was run by W.H. Thompson, who maintained the property for decades and let stagecoaches rest their horses and their men as they traveled from Austin to Lampasas. In 1982, the State of Texas officially declared it a historical location and soon installed a historical marker at the Thompson farm. By the turn of the century, the home was moved south to its current location on the nursery, where it still stands today. Moon Valley Nurseries Texas History We have been growing trees for over 30 years at our Glen Flora Farm, tucked in near the Colorado River in Glen Flora, Texas. With the ideal conditions, these trees have been growing under the South Texas sun since they were chosen saplings or seeds from the specimen Mother Tree right in our farms.
