Moon Valley Nurseries, a premiere tree and plant nursery located throughout the Southwest, is donating close to $700,000 in trees to the Prescott Preserve located in Palm Desert, California. Representatives and a staff biologist from the Oswit Land Trust will be on-site to answer questions regarding the specific types of trees and where they will be placed, as well as the reasons behind the donation.

“As part of our own sustainability and community involvement efforts, we were excited to donate over 200 trees to help benefit the Prescott Preserve, the latest project of the Oswit Land Trust,” said Joy Fichiera, senior manager, ESG for Moon Valley Nurseries.

A wildlife expert will address the importance of planting these trees in the Prescott Preserve which is a part of the Oswit Land Trust (OLT) – a 501(c)3 nonprofit land trust based in Palm Springs, CA. Oswit Land Trust, formally known as Save Oswit Canyon, was formed in 2016 in an effort to save Oswit Canyon from being destroyed by development. This spectacular canyon was one of the last unprotected Alluvial Fans in the Coachella Valley. This ecological treasure is home to the endangered Peninsular Bighorn Sheep, fox, bobcats, mountain lions, migratory birds, and other wildlife.

Originally founded in the Moon Valley community within Phoenix, Arizona, Moon Valley Nurseries has grown to include 40 locations in four states.
