A natural hybrid of the Dahoon and American types of holly, the Eagleston Holly is fast becoming a favorite in landscapes throughout Houston. These types of holly trees are also known by the botanical name, Ilex x atteneuata 'Eagleston,' and we like to use them as an attractive privacy hedge that requires little maintenance! They are small trees with a pyramidal growth habit, and the shiny medium-green leaves provide the ideal seasonal backdrop for the clusters of bright red berries that hold on throughout fall and winter!

Eagleston Holly like partial sun to full sun exposures and they grow at a slow to moderate pace. Buy as big as you can for an instant natural privacy screen or a stunning ornamental tree that is ready to add plenty of curb appeal! Once established, they have little to moderate water requirements and their roots are rarely invasive so that they are also ideal near pathways or anywhere in your landscape! Thanks to their slower growth rate, they require minimal upkeep and can be easily shaped to the desired form!

Moon Valley Nurseries is proud to offer these types of holly trees in a variety of sizes, with specimen trees available right now and ready to provide instant gratification. We are the growers so that we can assure the quality of these Eagleston Holly trees; they are second to none! Visit any of our Houston nurseries and see the difference!

We make it easy to revamp your yard with the bigger trees you want for an instant landscape. The Moon Valley professional planting team does all the work so that you can come home to a beautiful new yard!

Every time a plant is watered, the soil should be thoroughly saturated to a depth of at least 2 to 3 feet and at least as wide as a tree well. Very slow and deep watering is always recommended. During periods of extreme heat, we advise at least 1 additional time per week of watering for all varieties. For periods of heavy rain (1/2” or more) adjust accordingly by possibly skipping a watering session for that time.
