When the Eastern Redbud's delicate, beautiful, rosy pink blossoms and buds are in bloom, you cannot help but take notice of this springtime show. These trees have a spectacular display when in full bloom. It is not just people that see this beauty - hummingbirds, and butterflies come in droves to feed on the nectar. The flower show is not its only noticeable feature either. The Eastern Redbud Tree, botanical name Cercis canadensis, also features unique and irregular branching patterns that add elegance anywhere on a landscape. Eastern Redbud is one medium sized tree that provides year round interest and a sure fire way to add instant curb appeal!

Native to eastern U.S., the Eastern Redbud Tree prefers full sun and partial shade exposures with low to moderate water use once established. Relatively easy to grow, it has a moderate growth rate and makes an ideal garden tree. We love to plant them in small groupings, as specimens, and they are very well suited for patios or smaller yards and areas. In fact, Eastern Redbud Tree's will enhance any site, no matter how you use it! One of the big plusses is that this tree can begin flowering at a young age, you can enjoy the showy spectacle these trees provide in no time at all!

Due to their moderate growth rate, we recommend buying as big as you can. Moon Valley Nurseries is the largest box tree grower in the United States, with vibrant Eastern Redbud trees for sale in a variety of sizes. Every time a plant is watered, the soil should be thoroughly saturated to a depth of at least 2 to 3 feet and at least as wide as a tree well. Very slow and deep watering is always recommended. During periods of extreme heat, we advise at least 1 additional time per week of watering for all varieties. For periods of heavy rain (1/2” or more) adjust accordingly by possibly skipping a watering session for that time.
