The Loquat Tree is a beautiful and productive evergreen fruit tree, prized for its lush, tropical foliage and clusters of sweet, tangy fruit. Native to Asia and part of the rose family, the Loquat features large, leathery, dark green leaves that add rich texture to the landscape year-round. In late fall or early winter, it produces small, fragrant white flowers that develop into golden-yellow, pear-shaped fruit by spring. The fruit has a refreshing flavor—often described as a cross between apricot, citrus, and mango—and is enjoyed fresh, in jams, or baked goods.

Loquats thrive in full sun and well-drained soil, and are ideal for warm climates—best suited for USDA Zones 8–11. They’re moderately drought-tolerant once established and relatively low-maintenance, making them a favorite for edible landscapes and backyard orchards. Growing to about 15–25 feet tall and wide, the Loquat can also be pruned to fit smaller spaces or grown in large containers. Whether you’re looking for a shade tree, ornamental feature, or delicious homegrown fruit, the Loquat Tree offers beauty, fragrance, and flavor all in one.
