What Protection Is Provided?
Protection+ warrants each covered tree against tree loss for one (1) year from the date of planting. If your tree dies due to wind (so long as the tree continues to be double-staked), other weather-related damage, transplant shock, disease, insects and pests, or over or under watering, we will replace and replant your tree at no additional cost.[1]
What Is the Difference Between the Complimentary 90-Day Transplant Shock Guarantee and Protection+? How Do Those Programs Complement One Another?
Moon Valley Nurseries provides a complimentary 90-day transplant shock guarantee for most tree sales provided the tree is planted by Moon Valley Nurseries.[2] Moon Valley Nurseries will replace your tree and plant the replacement, subject to a Get to the Job delivery fee, if the tree dies from transplant shock within ninety (90) days of planting. Protection+ customers still enjoy the benefit of the 90-Day Transplant Shock Guarantee, if applicable, in addition to all benefits of Protection+.

Additional Terms & Conditions
- The Protection+ program is only available for trees (a) purchased from and (b) planted by Moon Valley Nurseries. Complimentary double-staking is provided by Moon Valley Nurseries if appropriate.
- The Protection+ program is subject to Moon Valley Nurseries’ Retail Terms and Conditions of Sale as stated on the tree purchase invoice and available for review at https://www.moonvalleynurseries.com/toc-of-sale.
- Protection+ is sold on a per tree basis. If multiple trees of the same size and type are purchased in a single transaction, Protection+ may only be purchased for all like trees on that invoice rather than a select number. For example, if five (5) Huge Evergreen Ash trees and three (3) Super Fruitless Olive trees are purchased, Protection+ is only available for the Evergreen Ash trees if five (5) corresponding Protection+ programs for Huge Evergreen Ash trees are purchased (one for each tree). No exceptions. Protection+ coverage is void if not purchased for all trees of the same size and type purchased in a single transaction. However, the customer may, at their option, choose to purchase Protection+ only for the Evergreen Ash trees and not for the Fruitless Olive.
- All Protection+ purchases are final sale and no prorated or unused warranty refunds will be given.
- Customer is entitled to three (3) separate maintenance visits per year for Protection+ covered trees only.
- While our Tree Care Professional will provide informed advice regarding recommended volume and frequency of tree watering depending on the season, we do not program or maintain customer watering/irrigation systems. It is the customer’s responsibility to adjust and maintain the customer’s tree irrigation system.
- Protection+ warranty is an unconditional one (1) calendar year from the original planting date.
- If a covered tree dies during the Protection+ warranty period, Moon Valley Nurseries will have up to, but no longer than, ninety (90) days to provide the replacement unless otherwise agreed to in writing at Moon Valley’s sole discretion.
- Customer is entitled to only one (1) replacement per covered tree during the Protection+ period (in addition to any qualifying 90-Day Transplant Shock Guarantee replacement). The replacement tree will be of the same size, specimen, and select level as purchased on the original invoice. For example, if a customer originally purchased a “Huge” size, Purple Select tree, when the warranty is used, the replacement tree will be the “Huge” size and Purple Select (non-premium) level as well. Customer may pay the difference to upgrade to a larger size or higher quality select level.
- Any remaining Protection+ Tree Care Professional Visits will transfer to the replacement tree. If desired, the customer may also purchase a new Protection+ plan for the replacement tree commencing with the time of planting by Moon Valley Nurseries.
- Protection+ and 90-Day Transplant Shock Guarantee warranties are void if the customer attempts to remove and replant tree in a different location or removes the tree’s raised earth well.
[1] Get to the Job variable delivery fee will apply for delivery distances greater than 50 miles. If a crane is required, an additional equipment fee will apply. Variable delivery and equipment fees, if applicable, are the customer’s responsibility and not included in Protection+.
