A streetscape project for the NASA space center in Houston; we supplied premium date palms and much much more.
When the team behind Space Center Houston — NASA's official visitor center and one of the most recognized science destinations on the planet — needed to elevate the landscape surrounding the International Space Station Park, they turned to Moon Valley Nurseries. The project called for large-scale, high-impact plant material that could hold its own against an iconic backdrop, installed with the precision and logistical coordination that a high-profile public destination demands.
Moon Valley Nurseries has built its wholesale reputation on exactly these kinds of projects: large commercial and institutional landscapes where the plant material needs to arrive mature, healthy, and ready to impress on day one. With growing operations spanning thousands of acres and one of the largest catalogs of premium specimen trees in the country, we're equipped to supply flagship projects from Texas to California — and to do it at a scale and quality level that smaller suppliers simply can't match.
The centerpiece of the Space Center Houston planting was a dramatic row of large-caliper Date Palms lining the main entry corridor — a signature look that immediately communicates grandeur and permanence. Moon Valley Nurseries supplied and installed the full run of specimen-grade trees, with each palm carefully selected for consistent trunk height, canopy shape, and overall visual impact to ensure a uniform, finished appearance along the entire boulevard.
Palms of this size require specialized handling, and our crews are among the most experienced in the business. Using heavy equipment and a well-coordinated installation process, our team set each tree precisely, braced and staked to ensure long-term establishment in the Texas Gulf Coast climate. The result is a living landmark — a row of towering Date Palms that welcomes thousands of visitors to one of the most storied science and space exploration sites in the world.
Moon Valley's Resort-Style Date Palms™ are a proven choice for high-visibility commercial and institutional projects throughout the Sun Belt. Grown in our own fields to specimen size, they deliver the immediate visual impact that landmark properties require without the years of wait time associated with starting from smaller stock.
The Space Center Houston installation is a strong example of what Moon Valley Nurseries brings to commercial and institutional projects that operate at the highest level of public visibility. From initial species specification through coordinated delivery and professional installation, our wholesale team manages the complexity so that landscape contractors, project managers, and developers can stay focused on the bigger picture.
Whether the project is a master-planned residential community, a resort and golf property, a municipal landmark, or a nationally recognized destination like Space Center Houston, Moon Valley Nurseries has the growing scale, the premium plant catalog, and the field experience to deliver — on time, at size, and built to last.
