A Texas native, the Blue Texas Ranger offers a unique contrast of soft silver gray leaves and puts on a show of light to dark purple flowers that bloom in spring all the way thru fall! In its native habitat, Leucophyllum frutescens is often found growing in ditches, ravines, hillsides, and slopes. Here in Houston, we love the dramatic contrast of the tubular flowers with the leaves, so we like to use them in groups as a hedge-able evergreen shrub or as a stand alone shrub where anyone can enjoy the attractive foliage!

The Blue Texas Ranger is easy to grow and tolerant of a broad range of soils. These hardy shrubs like to grow in a sunny location or one with partial shade exposure.
